Description

In a quiet, ivy‑clad house the narrator marks his thirtieth birthday with a sudden awareness of solitude. His sister’s recent marriage has left the once‑cheerful rooms echoing with silence, the piano unmoved and the garden bereft of laughter. As he reflects on the loss of companionship, he feels a restless yearning that the familiar comforts of books and routine can no longer soothe. This melancholy prompts him to consider a pilgrimage—a journey that might restore purpose and perhaps introduce a new love.

Setting out from the familiar streets of his hometown, he is driven by a whimsical yet earnest belief that destiny will place a ‘golden girl’ before him. Along the way he encounters a cast of characters—travelers, mystics, and strangers—each offering hints of the heart’s true direction. The story unfolds as a tender exploration of longing, self‑discovery, and the hopeful promise of romance.
