Description

In the mist‑laden hills of Perthshire, a scar‑torn captain returns home from India to the hunting grounds of his ancestral estate. There, he and his father, a seasoned Viscount, stalk red deer while exchanging barbed remarks about love, promises, and the curious stipulations of a late uncle’s will. The gentle rivalry between the newly arrived master and an English guest, Hawke Holcroft, adds a witty undercurrent to the solemn Scottish landscape.

Against a backdrop of heather‑coloured kilts and the clang of rifles, the Master of Aberfeldie confronts the lingering ache of a seven‑year separation from his fiancée, Olive, whose portrait haunts his thoughts. Amid the banter, hints of future intrigue surface—family expectations, hidden feelings, and the lingering scent of adventure—setting the stage for a tale of honor, romance, and the timeless pull of the Highlands.
