Description

The story opens on a scorching April afternoon along the Nile, where a lone steam dahabeah drifts lazily through the shimmering heat. On its deck sits a sun‑tanned Englishman in loose khaki, his eyes scanning the riverbanks with a practiced calm that hints at many seasons spent in the desert. Accompanying him are three Arab crewmen—Hassan, Abdallah and Ali—who watch their master with a mixture of respect and wary curiosity, aware that his reckless curiosity often outweighs common sense.

As the vessel rounds a bend in the river, the English explorer, known for his fluency in Arabic and his uncanny knack for deciphering ancient hieroglyphs, prepares for a new undertaking that promises both danger and wonder. His reputation for bold, sometimes foolhardy, schemes has earned him a loyal yet wary following, and whispers of hidden treasure stir the air. Against this backdrop of relentless sun and silent monuments, a subtle tension begins to rise, hinting at the personal and cultural entanglements that will shape the journey ahead.
