Description

A self‑made gentleman enjoys a quiet afternoon fishing on his own river when an unexpected shout brands him a “caitiff” and pulls him into a world far from his cultivated estate. The calm of birch‑lined banks gives way to a sudden encounter with a bold, roguish pirate captain whose reputation for daring precedes him. Their clash of personalities ignites a reluctant partnership that sends the protagonist from comfortable leisure into the rough‑hewn decks of a Caribbean vessel.

As the newly minted pirate learns the ropes, he discovers a captive lady of striking wit and resolve, captured by the same crew that now claims him as one of its own. Their conversations, fraught with sharp humor and tentative trust, reveal hints of a deeper connection that could reshape both their fates. With the Spanish Main looming on the horizon, the story promises swashbuckling seas, daring escapades, and the stirring question of whether a man of leisure can truly become a pirate—and a lover—without losing himself.
