The Heath Hover Mystery

John Seward Mervyn has taken up residence in a cramped, dim‑lit flat that locals avoid like a plague. The building’s reputation is built on a string of tenants who vanished after a few nights, each lured by the promise of free rent and driven away by something they never could name. A hardened cynic, Mervyn spends his evenings surrounded by a crackling fire, a pipe, and the howling winter wind, trying to convince himself that the legends are nothing more than superstition.
