Description

Set against the fragrant twilight of a Cuban evening, the tale follows a young officer stationed in Havana as the city’s bustling day fades into a quiet, music‑filled night. While the streets hum with the soft drum of the guard’s return, a lively group—an aristocratic Spanish gentleman, his spirited daughter, a restless boy, and two high‑ranking soldiers—strolls along the secluded promenade known as the Plato. Their casual chatter is interrupted by an unexpected mishap that thrusts the officer into a precarious situation, hinting at the tangled loyalties and hidden dangers of life in the low latitudes.

Amid the swaying palms and the distant echo of cannon fire, the soldier’s encounter with the enigmatic lady sparks a tentative connection, even as the shadows of bandits and colonial intrigue loom nearby. Their budding rapport promises both romance and peril, setting the stage for a journey that will test courage, honor, and the secret long kept within the soldier’s heart.
