Description

In a secluded valley framed by the White Mountains, a massive rock outcrop has been weathered into a likeness of a human face. The Great Stone Face dominates the horizon, its broad forehead, long bridge of a nose and wide lips becoming clearer the farther one stands back. Generations of villagers—log‑hut dwellers, farmers, and factory workers—share stories of the formation, treating it as a natural monument that watches over their lives.

At the edge of the valley a young boy, raised on the legends of the stone visage, becomes fascinated by the thought that a human could ever truly mirror its noble features. An old traveler speaks of a prophecy that a child will someday grow to embody the face’s serene expression, sparking the boy’s imagination and a quiet determination. As the seasons change, his curiosity leads him on a subtle quest to understand what it means to live in the shadow of such a timeless, mysterious presence.
