Description

A battered human fleet drifts back toward Earth after a century‑long war, its massive flagship the Rover carrying a handful of commanders and a notorious war criminal in custody. The crew debates the fate of the decommissioned robot armies—whether to keep them dormant or risk a resurgence—while the prisoner, Generalissimo Vilbis, toys with the idea that his own cunning might still turn the tide.

Suddenly, an unknown armada materializes on their tactical displays, forming a glittering, ever‑changing formation that dwarfs the familiar ships. The tension spikes as the humans scramble to interpret the alien geometry and decide how to defend a vessel that may hold the key to humanity’s future. In this tense opening, the story blends political intrigue, the lingering dread of autonomous machines, and the awe of a mysterious cosmic threat, setting the stage for a high‑stakes showdown in the void.
