Description

After two decades of a predictable city routine, a middle‑aged spinster decides to escape the clatter of urban life and spend a summer in a furnished country house called Sunnyside. She imagines quiet mornings, three daily mail deliveries, and the simple pleasure of a quiet garden, but the house quickly proves more unsettling than serene. Her sister Liddy teases her about gray hair and the loss of domestic comforts, hinting that the summer may be far from restful.

Almost at once, a series of odd occurrences begin to surround the cottage—a misplaced button, a mysterious visitor, and rumors of a crime that has already made the newspapers. The spinster finds herself drawn into the investigation, offering her perspective to a hard‑pressed detective who knows he could not solve the case without her insight. As she recounts the tangled beginnings, listeners are invited to follow her uneasy descent into a web of secrets that threatens to shatter the calm she sought.
