Description

A private hospital in Providence reports the baffling case of a young man named Charles Dexter Ward, whose physical condition defies medical explanation. His body bears an unnatural age, his voice is reduced to a whisper, and his skin carries an eerie chill that unsettles every witness. When he vanishes through an impossible window, only a fine, bluish‑gray dust remains, and the doctors are left questioning whether they have witnessed a supernatural escape or a terrifying hallucination.

Ward’s fascination with antiquities and genealogy has always set him apart, but recent years have seen him abandon those comforts for a desperate plunge into occult studies. His frantic attempt to grasp the modern world he feels deprived of fuels a growing dread among those who knew him. Listeners are invited to follow Dr. Willett’s uneasy pursuit of truth through a labyrinth of madness, mystery, and the unseen forces that may lie just beyond ordinary perception.

H. P. (Howard Phillips) Lovecraft

1890–1937

A master of cosmic horror, this American writer turned fear of the unknown into some of the most influential weird fiction ever written. His stories introduced readers to ancient beings, fragile sanity, and a universe far larger—and colder—than humanity would like to believe.
