Description

A tense evening in 1440 Edinburgh sets the stage for a clash of ambition and loyalty. When the king’s cannon booms over the city walls, crowds gather to witness the arrival of the powerful Douglas earl, whose presence threatens to upset the fragile balance of a realm ruled by a child‑king. Behind the scenes, Sir Alexander Livingstone and the shrewd Lord Chancellor William Crichton plot to control the newcomer, while a cunning red‑bearded operative named James Achanna weaves dangerous double‑games for both sides.

Amid the vaulted streets and looming towers, the newly appointed captain of the guard must navigate a maze of secret messages, shifting alliances, and the ever‑present specter of violence. As the guard’s men prepare for battle, the captain confronts a dilemma that could decide the fate of noble families and the very future of Scotland, all while trying to keep his own honor intact. This vivid historical tale invites listeners into a world of intrigue, duty, and the harsh realities of power.
