Description

In a dank hut on the banks of the Ugogo, a chained Spaniard named Esteban Miranda endures a year of cruel captivity while convincing the locals he is the legendary Tarzan of the Apes. The village chief Obebe hopes to test this claim, while the witch‑doctor Khamis spreads fear that Esteban might be a river devil, creating a deadly stalemate that keeps him alive but powerless. Amid the squalor, Esteban secretly hoards a glittering bag of stolen diamonds, counting its weight as a fleeting escape from his grim reality.

When the witch doctor’s fourteen‑year‑old daughter, Uhha, finally approaches the prisoner's dimly lit corner, a fragile connection forms that promises both hope and danger. Their tentative conversation hints at a possible alliance, as Esteban’s knowledge of the jungle and the girl’s curiosity could tip the balance in a world ruled by superstition and greed. The opening sets the stage for a tense struggle between identity, survival, and the lure of untold wealth.
