Description

Jarrod, a weary lawyer who has just extricated himself from a tangled web of crooked ranchers and financiers, finally earns a breath of peace. Encouraged by an old friend, he heads to the sleepy lakeside resort of Tamawaca for a quiet summer, hoping to swap courtroom battles for idle afternoons by the water. The town’s unpretentious charm and its eclectic mix of residents—fishermen, shopkeepers, and a handful of spirited “just girls”—welcome him, but the gentle rhythm soon proves anything but dull.

As Jarrod settles into his rented cottage, he finds himself drawn into the everyday dramas of his new neighbors. A well‑meaning but meddlesome doctor, a charismatic local who runs the modest bank, and a group of lively youngsters all converge around his porch, offering unsolicited advice, accidental mishaps, and a steady stream of laughter. The lawyer soon discovers that the simple joys of Tamawaca—late‑night bonfires, community picnics, and the occasional misadventure—are the perfect antidote to his past excesses, and that a summer of unexpected friendships may be just the remedy he needs.
