Description

A blazing border trail, a high-speed getaway, and a hail of gunfire launch this hard-driving adventure. Smugglers Mike and the Kid race across the desert after spotting an ambush, only to discover a gruesome scene: Chinese tong men and white gang members lie dead beside their cars. Before they can make sense of the massacre, a calm voice and a ring of cold steel bring their flight to an abrupt halt.

The violence points to a dangerous network moving dope across the border, where shifting loyalties and ruthless gunmen make every mile perilous. Into this turbulent world step Jimmie Grant of the Secret Service and Jimmie Earpe, an Arizona Ranger—an unlikely pair whose alliance is soon aimed straight at the smugglers and tong leaders behind the bloodshed. With desert chases, undercover danger, and sudden bursts of gunfire, this fast-paced novelette delivers an atmospheric glimpse of frontier law enforcement under pressure.
