Martin Ross

1862–1915

Best known as one half of the writing team Somerville and Ross, this Irish novelist helped create some of the sharpest and funniest portraits of country life in late 19th- and early 20th-century Ireland. Her work blends comedy, social observation, and a clear-eyed feel for character.
