Description

Owen Clancy is a rugged, red‑haired wanderer who finds himself on a treacherous mountain road outside Phoenix, Arizona, when a roaring six‑cylinder car hurtles past, threatening anyone in its path. A sudden horn and a desperate shout launch him into a frantic scramble along a sheer cliff edge, where he witnesses a stranger’s frantic, ill‑timed leap that could end in disaster. Clancy’s quick thinking and fierce determination keep him on his feet, but the dusty desert landscape and the menacing automobile set the tone for a high‑octane adventure.

As he pauses to consider his future—now the head of his family and eager to prove his worth—he discovers an unexpected talent for tinkering with engines. The “motor wizard” reputation hinted at in the opening hints at a blend of daring daring bravery and clever ingenuity, promising plenty of mechanical mishaps and daring rescues as Clancy navigates both the rugged terrain and the unpredictable world of early automobiles.
