Description

On a lonely stretch of shore, an aging shipbuilder lives in a beachcomber’s shack, haunted by the loss of the last vessel whose keel he supervised. The steamer struck a reef in calm weather, vanished with all hands, and left behind only questions—questions made more troubling by the pale, shaken diver who explored the wreck. The old man insists that the sea keeps its secrets, though on certain nights Neptune himself may be willing to speak.

What follows is a grim maritime tale told from the depths of the ocean and the darkness of a doomed ship. As a sudden storm traps passengers and crew against the reef, panic spreads through the vessel, officers reach for their weapons, and hope of rescue flickers in the distance. With the hull groaning, the sea raging, and fear turning people against one another, the story probes a chilling question: is the ocean truly merciless, or is its greatest cruelty found in the hearts of those aboard?
