The collection opens with a voice that has stepped out of a cloister, a former fiddler turned monk who sings his own surrender. In a tumble of fragmented verses the speaker wrestles with memory, duty and an aching longing for music, blending odd word‑play with sudden bursts of halleluja. The mood is both contemplative and oddly playful, as the poet wanders through quiet corridors of thought, letting the echo of a distant violin linger.
Later poems shift to vivid summer scenes—an evening on an arched bridge, the soft toll of a tower bell, the scent of willow blossoms drifting over a lake. Each piece, from “Lili” to “Silk‑Eeva,” captures fleeting emotions, whether the tender intimacy of a remembered love or the sharp sting of solitude. The language is tactile and lyrical, inviting listeners to feel the hush of rustling leaves, the flash of distant lightning, and the quiet joy that surfaces even in confinement.
