Description

In the tumultuous courts of 16th‑century France, a fragile alliance is forged through a royal wedding that promises to bridge the bitter divide between Catholics and Protestants. King Charles, his queen‑mother, and the Navarrese royalty gather to seal the pact, while powerful nobles like the Duke of Guise and the Prince of Condé watch with wary eyes. The ceremony’s hopeful vows are quickly shadowed by whispered fears of betrayal and the specter of religious bloodshed.

Behind the splendor, the king’s edicts ignite a dangerous plot: a secret order to extinguish the Protestant presence in Paris looms, and the conspirators begin to mobilize their forces. As the stage fills with soldiers, cardinals, and courtiers, listeners will feel the tension rise, sensing the thin line between ceremony and carnage. The drama captures the moment when political ambition and sectarian hatred converge, setting the stage for a tragedy that will reverberate through history.
