Description

Three friends set off from Helsinki on a breezy, improvised journey that promises more than a simple weekend getaway. Juhani, Tuomas and Simeoni bark out farewells at the harbor, hop into a rattling restaurant wagon, and launch themselves toward the distant pyramids, their excitement tinged with a dash of youthful mischief. The opening chapters follow their first steps across the sea, where a nervous Swede and a carefree Englishman add cultural contrast, while the trio revels in the quirks of Scandinavian cuisine and the lingering chill of the northern air.

Even before the border crosses, the travelers’ keen eyes turn everyday scenes into lively anecdotes—debates over Finnish names at a Turkish consulate, breakfast in an opera cellar, and the odd encounter with a “diamond‑weigher.” Their playful banter and genuine curiosity paint a vivid portrait of early 20th‑century Europe, inviting listeners to join a light‑hearted, detail‑rich adventure that feels both intimate and far‑reaching.
