Description

In the cramped, bustling streets of Stepney, the Marvel family ekes out a modest life. George, a wood‑turner earning just enough to keep the household afloat, and his patient wife strive to make both ends meet for their two children. Their world is one of hard‑won respect among neighbours, small comforts, and the ever‑present worry that the next stone on their path may be sharper than the last.

From an early age their son Joshua absorbs his father's weary sermons about poverty and confinement. He learns the language of hard work, the quiet pride of a family that never falls into debt, and the subtle yearning for something beyond the narrow lanes of their hive. As the first signs of change ripple through the neighborhood, Joshua begins to question whether the familiar rhythm of his life can hold the future he quietly imagines.
