Description

A curious boy named Jimbo is thrust into a world of strange possibilities when a seemingly harmless invitation to “play rabbits” at night opens a doorway to an uncanny “Empty House.” His stern, horse‑loving father, a retired colonel, dismisses the request, yet the lingering magic of the holiday season refuses to be ignored. With a governess whose lapse sets the stage, Jimbo finds himself caught between ordinary country life and the first hints of a hidden realm, where ordinary shadows pulse with mystery.

The early chapters weave the gentle frustration of a child seeking adventure with the subtle, unsettling presence of a house that is empty yet full of unseen doors. As Jimbo’s confidence wavers and his imagination soars, he discovers companions and whispers that promise both danger and wonder. Listeners are invited to follow his tentative steps toward the edge of unconsciousness, where the ordinary world begins to crack and the promise of flight beckons.
