Description

In the summer of 1778, along the mist‑covered shores of Lake George, a restless young Englishman named Edgar Sherwood finds himself drawn into the fevered blood‑rush of the American Revolution. Fresh from an aristocratic upbringing and a bitter inheritance dispute with his brother, Edgar embraces the colonists’ cause with a fierce conviction, seeing liberty as a fire worth fighting for, even if it means betraying his native crown. His passionate arguments unfold in a modest cottage where he debates the future of the new nation with Thomas Lear, a staunch Tory and the father of his beloved Imogene.

Against this backdrop of war and divided loyalties, Edgar must navigate a treacherous web of family honor, political intrigue, and personal sacrifice. As the fledgling Continental Army scrambles for resources, the young hero’s resolve is tested by threats both on the battlefield and within the very homes he wishes to protect. The story promises a gripping portrait of a man caught between two worlds, each demanding his allegiance and the price he is willing to pay.

Frederick Forest

Best known today for a single rediscovered historical adventure, this elusive 19th-century writer pulled readers into the danger and divided loyalties of the American Revolution. Little is firmly documented about the person behind the name, which only adds to the book’s old-world mystery.
