In a ruined world where the sky is choked by ash and machines patrol the wasteland, the last remnants of humanity have taken refuge deep underground. The labyrinthine tunnels stretch for hundreds of miles, housing a dwindling community that survives on lizards and the memory of sunlight. Jon, a gaunt but determined survivor, is haunted by the sight of the towering Mechs that dominate the surface.
Defying the counsel of the community’s elder, Jon decides to risk the perilous ascent, hoping to catch a glimpse of the sun and perhaps find a way out of the darkness. As he prepares for the climb, he learns unsettling truths about the machines—once human creations, now sentient, relentless hunters that scour the earth for any remaining life. The story unfolds as Jon confronts his fear, the unknown above, and the fragile hope that humanity might still have a chance.
