Description

In the quiet valleys of 1750s Pennsylvania, a hardworking German family stakes its claim on fertile, forest‑lined land. Their days begin with sunrise prayers, chores, and simple joys—spinning, milking, and the endless chatter of children playing among the trees. Yet the peace is fragile, for the surrounding wilderness is alive with the ever‑present threat of sudden raids by restless Native warriors, stirred by distant colonial rivalries.

Against this backdrop, the Hartman household balances hope and fear as they tend to crops, mend fences, and tend to one another’s needs. The story follows the family’s daily rhythms—husband and son sowing fields, mother and younger son making a trip to the mill, and sisters watching over the cabin—while hinting at the looming danger that could shatter their hard‑won sanctuary. Listeners will feel the crisp autumn air, hear the creak of wooden doors, and sense the tension of a frontier world on the edge of conflict.
