Description

Set in the genteel drawing‑room of Mr. William Faraday, a self‑styled socialite, the comedy opens on a crisp February evening. A parade of idiosyncratic guests gathers: a retired sea‑dog admiral with a salt‑sprayed grin, a dry‑witted colonel whose military bearing masks a soft spot for mischief, and a host of fashionable ladies whose laughter fills the room. Amid them, the Faraday sisters—Celia, the witty middle child, and the coquettish Phyllis—navigate the expectations of high society while hinting at secrets that could upend their comfortable world.

The arrival of a mysterious pair of green stockings becomes the catalyst for a series of witty misunderstandings and light‑hearted confrontations. As old servants like Martin observe the genteel chaos, alliances shift and egos swell, drawing both humor and gentle satire from the clash of tradition and the desire for novelty. Listeners will be drawn into the lively repartee and charmingly flawed characters, eager to see which of the household’s pretensions will unravel next.
