Description

Young Frank Reade inherits his father’s reputation as a brilliant maker of steam‑powered wonders, but he’s already dreaming of a step beyond the classic Steam Man. When his elderly father summons him with a mysterious request, Frank hints at a new contraption capable of crossing the open prairie, promising an adventure that will test both his ingenuity and his courage. The story opens with the bustling workshops of Readestown and a playful rivalry between father and son, setting the stage for a daring expedition into the untamed West.

Guided by a loyal servant and a promise to repay an old debt, Frank prepares to unleash his latest invention on the vast frontier. Along the way he will encounter rugged landscapes, unpredictable rivals, and the spirit of invention that drives the young engineer to push the limits of steam and imagination. The first act teases a journey where technology meets the rawness of the American plains, inviting listeners to follow a young inventor’s bold quest for discovery.
