Description

A devoted Southern Oregon fisherman is tired of coming home with nothing but fresh air and exercise. Determined to improve his odds, he builds an experimental fish-spotter from his Navy sonar experience and heads for the Rogue River, convinced that science will finally reveal which of its beautiful pools are hiding a catch.

Instead, the device leads him to a magnificent steelhead—and an astonishingly unruly conversation. The fish takes a tiny fly, plunges deep, and begins trading insults with the bewildered angler through his earphones. As rod, reel, electronic gadget, and temperamental quarry become hopelessly entangled, an ordinary fishing trip turns into a lively battle of wits between a man who wants to land his prize and a fish with plenty to say about the matter. This lighthearted spoof offers wilderness adventure, inventive gadgetry, and wonderfully absurd humor.
