Transcriber's Note:
In the rolling grasslands of the Argentine Pampas, an ancient ombú tree towers alone above the ruins of a forgotten estate. Old Nicandro, a lifelong keeper of local stories, invites listeners to sit beneath its shade and hear the tangled history of the house that once stood by the lake of Chascomus. Through his voice the landscape comes alive – cattle caravans, distant flamingos, the hum of carpenter bees – painting a vivid portrait of a world that has nearly vanished.
The tale unfolds as a meditation on memory and loss, where the very branches seem to echo forgotten conversations and occasional ghostly lights. Hudson blends natural description with a subtle sense of the supernatural, allowing the listener to feel both the heat of a summer siesta and the chill of an unseen past. By the end of the first act, the ombú remains a silent witness, inviting curiosity about the people who once gathered under its shelter.
