EATIN' CROW.
THE BEST MAN IN GAROTTE.
A dusty mining camp called Garotte comes alive one evening as newcomer Charley Muirhead strides into Doolan’s saloon, hoping to turn the town’s grim reputation around. The locals are buoyed by rumors of a strike, yet the cantankerous Bill Bent snarls that any wealth is a mirage, sparking a tense showdown that sees Charley’s bravado flare into a sudden, physical clash. The brawl, though brief, leaves the crowd unsettled, but Charley’s quick‑draw charisma soon smooths the rift, and the bar’s laughter resumes as if nothing had happened.
Soon after, Charley’s restless energy finds a purpose when he offers to partner with the seasoned prospector Dave Crocker on a modest claim. Their uneasy alliance is forged over shared drinks and hard labor, revealing a fragile but hopeful camaraderie amid the harsh frontier life. Listeners will be drawn into the gritty atmosphere, the clash of pride and survival, and the tentative bonds forming in a town where every newcomer must earn his place.
