Description

A relentless chase roars through the untamed heart of Zululand, where the determined soldier Florian pursues two desperate fugitives across riverbanks, thorn‑filled thickets and herds of startled wildlife. The harsh landscape—raging streams, towering kopjes and poisonous spiky shrubs—adds a fierce, almost primal tension to his quest for retribution, while his own blood‑thirst and trembling hands betray a deeper turmoil. Amid the turmoil, flashes of past comrades and the hopeful letters destined for Dulcie hint at personal stakes that go far beyond the battlefield.

The narrative weaves together the clash of duty and desire, as Florian’s pursuit intertwines with the lives of those he cares for, from the noble officer Vivian Hammersley to Dulcie’s distant friend Finella. As the chase pushes both riders and horses to their limits, the story offers vivid, sensory detail that brings the African wilderness to life, inviting listeners to feel every dust‑laden breath and echoing gunshot. The first act sets a pulse‑quickening stage for love, loyalty, and the uncertain road ahead.
