Description

Christopher is a gifted fiddler whose talent sets him apart in a narrow, provincial town that fails to understand his artistic soul. Though his neighbors label him “queer” and dismiss his odd dress and demeanor, they cannot deny the haunting beauty of the music he offers at the modest chapel each Sunday. His pale, dreamy eyes and solitary nature hint at a restless spirit yearning for a world that appreciates more than practicality.

Enter Barbara Allen, a lively nineteen‑year‑old with a voice as bright as a thrush’s song. She lives with her elderly uncle and, despite her carefree charm, feels the sting of being both admired and envied by those around her. When Christopher becomes her music teacher, a tender partnership blossoms, each recognizing in the other a kindred creative fire. Together they dream of turning talent into a modest livelihood, clinging to the hope that love and art might finally earn the respect that has long eluded them.
