Description

In the early days of Plymouth, a stern yet thoughtful Puritan captain walks the modest wooden walls of his home, his armor and weapons catching the dim light. Miles Standish, proud of his martial past, examines the cutlass and Damascus sword that once saved his life on foreign battlefields, while his close companion John Alden sketches quietly at a pine desk. Beneath the clang of steel, a softer sorrow surfaces as Standish recalls his beloved Rose, whose memory lingers among the fields they now tend.

Against this rugged backdrop, the two men become entangled in a delicate courtship that tests friendship and duty. Alden, the gentle writer, is asked to act as messenger for the captain’s affections, a role that sparks both humor and uncertainty. Listeners will find themselves drawn into the quiet hopes and doubts of a fledgling colony, where love must find its way amid the harsh realities of survival.
