VIGJÁTÉK HÁROM FELVONÁSBAN
Set in a richly furnished painter’s studio next to a bustling atelier in early twentieth‑century Budapest, the play opens with a stage crowded by velvet curtains, bright tapestries, a golden chandelier and a throne‑like red armchair that dominates the room. János, a temperamental artist, is preparing for a day of work while his loyal assistant András buzzes around, handling coats and errands. The detailed surroundings hint at a world where art, fashion and social expectations collide in comic excess.
When András fetches a silk coat and a crisp white cravat for János, the two men slip into a rapid exchange of orders, money, and petty grievances, turning a simple dressing‑room routine into a farcical barter. Into this tension steps Cinka, the weary model, who arrives to find the studio silent and the painter indifferent, accusing him of neglect and of preferring landscapes over people. Her sharp tongue and János’s flustered denials spark a lively clash that reveals both the absurdity of artistic pretensions and the tangled personal loyalties simmering beneath the surface.
