Description

A quiet, early‑April morning sets the stage for a family’s uneasy welcome of their newest member. When Mrs. Greensleeve holds her newborn, she feels an inexplicable disquiet, a lingering question that the doctor dismisses as nothing more than a fleeting curiosity. Her husband drifts in and out of the house, his vague presence underscoring the ordinary world that now feels subtly off‑balance.

As the days unfold, the child’s strange demeanor begins to ripple through the household, drawing the attention of neighbors, friends, and strangers alike. Conversations in the garden, visits to museums, and late‑night encounters hint at hidden depths and unspoken histories. The story gently weaves together domestic life and an undercurrent of mystery, inviting listeners to wonder what secrets lie beneath the surface of a seemingly perfect little girl.
