Description

Miss “Kitty” Harper awakens in a cramped escape pod hurtling toward Earth after a catastrophic shipwreck. A seasoned schoolteacher turned space‑farmer, she’s forced to share the tiny vessel with a rugged lieutenant and a blond radioman, both of whom seem more interested in old‑fashioned gender expectations than the crisis at hand. Their banter hints at a deeper secret they’ve been keeping, and Kitty’s sharp intellect immediately sets her at odds with their condescending attitudes.

As the pod drifts through the void, Kitty wrestles with the practicalities of survival—limited water, scant clothing, and the lingering wreckage of a war‑machine that dominates the limited space. Yet her mind keeps turning over the whispered judgments about a woman’s “place,” while the men’s patronizing remarks only fuel her resolve to prove herself. The tension between duty, dignity, and the looming mystery of what the two men must reveal creates a compelling clash of personalities that propels the story forward.
