Description

A young woman named Margaret boards the ship Boomerang, leaving behind a lover’s kiss and a lingering goodbye that leaves her heart heavy with solitude. The bustling deck becomes a stage for strangers caught in their own concerns, while Margaret’s quiet grief goes unnoticed amid the clamor of departure.

Below deck, she shares a cramped cabin with Rose, an orphaned maid bound for Ireland, whose cheerful presence only sharpens Margaret’s sense of isolation. As the vessel slices through the ocean, Margaret reflects on a childhood marked by rejection and the looming return to a home that once judged her harshly. Her thoughts turn inward, weighing the weight of past mistakes against the uncertain promise of the journey ahead, setting the tone for a tale of self‑examination and the fragile hope of redemption.
