Description

Set against the stark beauty of Nubia’s sand‑streaked banks, a modest stern‑wheeler begins its journey upriver with a eclectic group of travelers—from a seasoned British colonel to curious American women, a Parisian monk and a Dublin couple. Their chatter and camaraderie mask a simmering tension as the boat slides past ancient, abandoned citadels and eerie graves, hinting at the region’s forgotten empires and the mysteries they still guard.

When the vessel reaches the middle cataract, the serene scenery gives way to a sudden, unsettling incident that forces the passengers to confront dangers far beyond the heat and dust. Alliances shift, secrets emerge, and the calm of the Nile is broken by an urgency that compels each character to reveal who they truly are. The first act sets a vivid stage for a tale where the desert’s silence is as dangerous as any overt threat.
