Scott Farrar, our new research colleague, is an expert in GeoGebra, a geometric dynamic math environment. He spent some time showing me some of the ins and outs of the tool, doing things (like animation and multiple parallel plots) that I didn’t realize were possible. While its interface is certainly a significant barrier, and its activities generally require a facilitator, one can imagine a more evolved implementation that would empower untrained independent students… specifically in geometry, functions, and related topics.
