In a distant land called Uz lives a man renowned for his integrity and devotion. He is blessed with a large family, abundant livestock, and a prosperous household, making him one of the wealthiest people of his region. When the heavenly council gathers, the divine voice praises his righteousness, but a challenger questions whether his faith would hold without protection.
Soon, a cascade of calamities strikes: messengers report the sudden loss of his servants, flocks, and children to raids, fire, and a violent storm. As the blows continue, Job is afflicted with painful sores that cover his body, and even his wife urges him to abandon his steadfastness. Yet, amid the turmoil, he clings to a humble acknowledgment of life's fleeting nature and continues to honor the name of the divine.
