A weary traveler, cloaked in rags and burdened by a heavy load, awakens in a desolate place and asks a simple, desperate question: how can he save his soul? In the quiet of his dream, he confides his fear to his family, but their concern only spurs him to seek a deeper answer. When the man, later called Christian, steps into the open field, a kind stranger named Evangelist appears and offers a single, clear direction.
Evangelist points to a faint light and a small gate, urging Christian to follow that glow and knock on the door that will show the way forward. With a brief scroll that reads “Fly from the wrath to come,” the pilgrim sets off, his heart racing with the promise of life beyond his dread. As he begins his trek, the world around him swells with both encouragement and opposition, setting the stage for a hopeful yet challenging journey.
