Jacob Dermout
A Dutch writer of the early 19th century, he is linked with fiction set in the Dutch East Indies and is remembered today mainly through later reprints and digital editions of his work. His life also took a very different track: alongside writing, he trained in theology and served as a minister in several Dutch towns.
