A desperate winter voyage across the Atlantic in 1620, the Mayflower battered by storm, passengers huddled in cramped cabins. Among them, Mary Chilton, a steadying presence for anxious mothers and restless children, keeps spirits alive despite the howling seas. The ship’s crew and passengers cling to faith, whispering prayers for safe harbor as the darkness threatens to swallow them.
As Christmas approaches, the little ones beg for clues about Santa’s gifts, while Mary comforts them with gentle promises of hope. John Winslow, a fellow pilgrim, shares his own longing for home and the familiar warmth of English hearths, yet encourages perseverance. With the storm finally easing at dawn, the promise of a new shore and a first celebration in a strange land begins to flicker on the horizon.
