In a dusty mining town on the outskirts of Chihuahua, a group of Indian laborers find themselves locked in a heated debate over the true power of the dynamite cartridges they use. Some swear the blasts are lethal to any flesh, while a few insist the explosives only menace stone, leaving the human body relatively unharmed. To settle the dispute, one outspoken worker volunteers to become the living test case, setting the fuse and holding the cartridge against a stone corner of a nearby house.
When the charge detonates, the walls crumble and a sudden tremor ripples through the town, prompting panic and curiosity among the residents. Amid the rubble, the volunteer emerges, his right hand torn away, yet he insists the cartridge itself was harmless, blaming the metal cap instead. The incident leaves the miners scrambling to understand the true nature of the explosive, while the wounded man’s fate begins to reshape his standing among his peers.
