In the cold silence of orbit, the crew of an atom‑powered spacecraft returns from a daring venture to Venus. Captain Vic Arlen commands the ship, while brilliant but unhinged scientist Harry Renzu dreams of molding a new race from the lifeless clay of the alien world. Alongside them is Gheal, a half‑human, half‑monster being rescued from a previous expedition, his strange form a living puzzle of biology and ambition.
The tension spikes when Renzu attempts to discipline Gheal with a cruel whip, believing the creature must be broken for scientific progress. Arlen steps in, insisting on humane treatment and challenging the scientist’s god‑like self‑image. Their clash raises unsettling questions about power, responsibility, and what truly separates humanity from monstrosity as the ship drifts through the void.
