On a chilly November night a litter of piglets snuggles in their straw‑filled sty, trying to stay warm while the world outside is quiet. One of them, Wilful, hears an odd cracking sound that awakens his imagination and sets his mind racing. His mother, the sleepy sow, brushes it off as foolishness, urging the piglets back to sleep. Undeterred, Wilful whispers to his brother Fatsides, convinced that something unusual is afoot.
Determined to uncover the source, Wilful decides to slip out of the sty despite the door’s stubborn latch. He imagines everything from a stable fire to looming “great blue butchers” that might threaten the farmyard. With a mix of bravery and curiosity, he prepares to push the door open and step into the unknown. Listeners will follow his lively quest, sharing his wonder at the mysterious noise and his daring attempt to solve the puzzle before the night ends.

Some of literature’s most enduring voices come to us without a confirmed name. “Anonymous” stands for storytellers whose identities were never recorded, were deliberately concealed, or were lost over time.
