A lone driver named Stan is trapped on an endless, high‑speed freeway where the law forces him to keep moving without ever stopping for more than eight hours. His wife, Anna, is growing increasingly sick, and the relentless motion turns their journey into a suffocating cage of steel and desert heat. When a makeshift roadside shack appears, Stan sees a chance for a brief respite and a possible lifeline.
He pulls over to ask a mysterious, beaded‑belted stranger for help, only to be met with a cold refusal that underscores the harsh reality of a society that punishes any pause. The encounter forces Stan to confront the price of “freedom” on a road that never ends, and to question how far he’ll go to keep his wife alive while still obeying the unyielding rules of the highway.
