A seasoned captain finds his authority tested when a mysterious blackout blankets the ship’s sensors on a distant, desolate world. With the crew’s confidence wavering, he and the outspoken Spaceman Quade clash over the cause—whether it’s a known phenomenon called “transphasia” or something far more dangerous lurking beneath the planet’s surface. Their rivalry forces the captain to confront his own doubts while the crew’s survival hangs in the balance.
The pair reluctantly agree to venture outside the airlock together, hoping to uncover the source of the interference. As they trek across a landscape of silicon‑rich dunes and iron‑stained rocks, the alien environment begins to reveal subtle, unsettling hints that the disturbance may be more than a simple sensor glitch. Tension builds as old hierarchies crumble and the crew must decide whether to trust old instincts or embrace the unknown.
