Rik awakens in a cold, dim vault, the air thick with stale carbon dioxide and a strange hum of forgotten machinery. He discovers that he and dozens of others were sealed in a network of underground chambers, placed there as a last‑ditch hope against a devastating war that may have burnt the surface to ash. As the life‑support pump sputters and the ancient clock above marks centuries rather than minutes, he realizes he is the first to stir in a world that might no longer exist.
Driven by a desperate need to revive the dormant systems, Rik navigates the labyrinthine vaults, confronting frozen companions and a crumbling passage blocked by a mysterious rock fault. Each step raises unsettling questions about how long they have slept and what lies beyond the sealed doors of the elders’ chamber. The story unfolds as he battles dwindling air, failing technology, and his own fading memories, setting the stage for a tense struggle to determine whether humanity can ever awaken again.
