Buddy Jim is a bright‑eyed city kid who’s about to spend the summer away from the bustling streets and his playground pals. As his family prepares for an early morning drive to the country, Jim feels the sting of goodbye and wonders how he’ll fill three long months without friends. While perched on the porch swing, a tiny, laughing bat named Reddy appears, offering witty chatter and a reminder that adventure can begin wherever you are.
Soon Jim’s loyal old dog, Sandy, joins him, and together they set out into the wide, open fields and whispering woods of the countryside. Along the way they encounter shy squirrels, curious frogs, and other gentle critters that make the rural landscape feel like a living storybook. With each new encounter, Jim discovers that fun isn’t a place at all—it’s the curiosity and friendship he brings with him.
